Excuses
I know, I know, we have been very bad about posting new pictures. I think I must be one of the worst bloggers out there. But I do have a few excuses. First, I'm one of the worst bloggers out there. Second, I'm pregnant and sick and tired. Third, Brian has been really busy sending Dental School Applications out and we have literally just been taking care of our basic needs. Between work and his calling as Elders Quorum Pres. and me in Young Women and taking care of Avery we really haven't had much free time, although we are looking forward to what FREE TIME Might look like!!! Oh, by the way, we are having a BOY! We are very excited. We are trying to explain to Avery that she is going to have a little brother. I'm sure by the time he comes she will understand what that means but right now she doesn't seem to care. All in good time.
OAK GLEN
We went to Oak Glen last weekend to get away from the heat and be in a prettier environment. Avery got to see animals and we bought some apples picked from the orchards in Oak Glen. I'm planning on making an Apple pie with them. I'll show a picture if it looks good but forget it if it doesn't. I still have not perfected crust and I fear it will be a good many years before I do.
Here are Brian and Avery standing next to a rather large tree, these aren't really common around here.
Avery had her own sunglasses but she kept wanting mine and would keep them on longer
so I let her wear them. (not that she would have given them back)
I seem to be wearing this outfit a lot when we take photos, so I just want you all to know that I do not wear this every day, I do have other clothes.
This was taken at Mountain Top Days held in Running Springs. Brian took Avery around in the helicopter and she did not want to get out. Now when ever she sees a helicopter or hears one she stops and says "helicop" its really cute.
She was just making silly faces but I had a hard time catching any of them.
SAN DIEGO ZOO TRIP
Dana and Jared came down to visit with little Dylan and Ava, we met them down in San Diego to spend the day. We had a fun time at the zoo when the animals weren't hiding or asleep (although, I didn't blame them). Avery had a fun time getting to know Ava and we didn't even hear from Dylan alllllll day, he is by far the quietest baby I have ever seen.
We are sad that they have just moved to Minnesota. We are hoping to be accepted to a Dental School that is relatively close.
Avery thought the Giraffes were pretty fun.
Our little family
Ava does a much better job posing for the camera, there were a couple of times that Avery seemed to follow her lead but obviously not this time.
This is back at their hotel, all we had to do was walk out the back doors and we
were right on Mission Bay.
They went exploring down at the Bay and found a crab,
the girls were excited to check it out.
Aren't they cute!
This was outside the petting zoo. It was hard to get them to smile or look at the same time. This was the best we could do.

Huntington Beach Trip
We didn't really do anything fun for the 4th because all of my family was in Idaho and Brian's family was in Chicago, so we decided to go to the beach the day after. We took Avery last year but she was too young to really enjoy it. This time we were a little nervous she would be afraid of the water but boy were we wrong. Now I just have to be nervous about where she is at all times. If we are not careful she'll head out there on her own. She couldn't get enough of the waves and although she was freezing, she cried when either of us tried to take her out. Brian says she is "His Daughter" and I would have to agree. Although I love the water I am very aware of my limitations. Avery and Brian just say
"BRING IT ON"
Avery kept pointing out for Brian to take her further
Here we are watching Daddy surf
Brian bought Avery a bunch of beach toys and some friends who came with us borrowed them to make a castle so naturally Avery needed to check things out and keep an eye on them.
Here's Brian going out to surf and Juan going to body board.
Me and Avery
Cute faces
I'm not use to wearing sunglasses because I either lose them or forget them and here I have them and yet I still don't wear them...sometimes I don't understand myself
Avery helped James and Christina with the bridge and moat, I was impressed that she didn't try and destroy anything, she was just very patient.
This picture was actually taken before swim time today, I just thought I would throw it in. This is Avery's friend Nathan
Here is Audrey helping Brian put Avery on the body board. I still can't believe how much fun Avery had in the water and in the sand. Normally she doesn't like to be dirty but she had a ball. We're excited to take her again!!!
AVERY DAYS
Here are just a bunch of pictures we've taken of Avery lately. Most of the time she
was having a good time.
This morning Avery decided that she wanted earrings in so we did. She was very excited and kept needing to look in the mirror.
This is the older couple's house who lives next door. Avery loves to play with them.
This is at the Park with Grammy again
Grammy sets up a little soapy water for Avery to wash "her" measuring spoons in and of course get a little wet at the same time.

Rock Climbing at Keller Peak
We went rock climbing with some friends, Juan and Audrey, and we had a good time. I haven't been in a couple years and I'm a couple months PREGNANT (Surprise) so I really had to take it easy but Brian and the others did well and were able to do more climbing than me.

Here's Brian on the first climb, he had the job of trying to figure out the best hand and foot holds.

Here he is again

This was the second climb, I thought this was a good shot. I didn't attempt this one because you had to do some major stretching and hopping, there was great potential for me to eat it.

This is a lovely shot of me. I found it pretty difficult with less energy than normal, when I finished I was so nauseous that I'm really surprised I didn't throw up.

This is Audrey, she was actually the first one to get to the top. GIRL POWER

This is her husband Juan. He and I haven't been as much as the other two so we felt good about what we accomplished.

PASADENA RUN
On June 21st four friends and I ran in a 8k race down in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl. It was a trail race and that was a first for me. We all had a really good time although it would have been much better if they had started it earlier, the sun is sooooo hot these days and 8am is too late to begin a race. Brian and Avery along with some of the other husbands came down to support us. It was fun to see them there at the beginning and then cheering us on at the end. There were only about 1,000 runners so much different than the 23,o00 at my San Francisco marathon.
Here's Avery being such a good girl for Daddy
This is right before the gun went off
After the race, I actually had all sorts of energy after, too bad I didn't have more during the race.
These are some of the girls. Jenny (my friend who ran the marathon with me in October), Audrey, Brooke (who was 5 months pregnant), and Cathy
Brian wasn't sure this was me because I normally don't run with a hat
Here I am again, almost finished YEAH!!!
